About Us
Hello! We are Antonio and Michelle Brunetti.
Flowers & Cheese started as a creative outlet for us before we got married in 2018 (this was once our wedding website). Michelle was working with flowers at the time, Antonio was working with cheese, and we thought the name was a fun little take on the "blank & blank" business name format that we kept seeing everywhere!
During the pandemic, we started offering subscription boxes of all the delicious things that Antonio has a habit of making...jams and preserves from seasonal fruit, pickles from an overabundance of cucumbers at the farmers market, etc. Antonio learned all sorts of tricks and sorcery from his Italian immigrant parents, and has carried these on into the future with incredible enthusiasm. Using local, natural, seasonal ingredients was inherent to the way his family and community did things, and that ethos has taken on a new level of importance in our lives today. Particularly with winemaking.
Having begun his education in the trade of basement winemaking at the ripe old age of seven, Antonio was excited to try his hand as an adult in our Chicago basement. When we moved to California in 2019, he could no longer resist the siren song. We were at the source. He was all in.
He makes wine today the way his father always did - naturally, with no additives. He has tried varietals from near and far, but primarily focuses on what's available in Los Angeles County. Today he proudly counts himself a member of the Los Angeles Vintners Collective.
If you visit our winery, you will find the experience infused with the same love of food, wine, and community that Antonio grew up with.
We look forward to meeting you.
